Oregon’s Lache Seastrunk leaving team

Oregon running back Lache Seastrunk, one of the key figures in the NCAA’s investigation of the school, is leaving the Ducks.

“Lache wants to be closer to his grandmother,” said Oregon head coach Chip Kelly. “That’s what he wants. It’s a family decision and that’s why he went home.”

According to a school statement, Oregon granted Seastrunk’s unconditional release to transfer from the school’s football program.

Oregon Coach Chip Kelly Isn’t Worried About His Job

Oregon Coach Chip Kelly is focused on playing LSU Sept. 3 and he’s not worried about losing his job in the wake of an NCAA investigation.

“I’m very confident in everything that will happen,” Kelly told reporters before the Oregon Ducks’ first practice. “We don’t run our program based on outside influences. It really doesn’t affect our thought processes.”

Oregon running back Lache Seastrunk is brushing aside the controversy as well.

What’s Oregon’s Chip Kelly Hiding?

The silence is deafening. The silence is telling. Oregon Ducks head football coach Chip Kelly hasn’t said a word about his suspicious relationship with so-called street agent Willie Lyles. The bunker mentality is now firmly in place.

As a result, a media circus will erupt on July 26 in Los Angeles when Kelly faces reporters for the first time during the Pac-12 Media Day.

Spin control: Reggie Bush says he’s not guilty

Former USC running back Reggie Bush said that his decision to relinquish his 2005 Heisman Trophy is “not an admission of guilt,” just the best way to end the controversy.

“It’s me showing respect to the Heisman Trophy itself and to the people who came before me and the people coming after,” Bush said. “I just felt like it was the best thing to do, the most respectful thing to do because obviously I do respect the Heisman. I do respect all the things it stands for.”

Unprecedented: Reggie Bush gives up the Heisman

It wasn’t easy. It took a long time. It happened as a result of incredible pressure. But, in the end, Reggie Bush did the right thing by giving up the 2005 Heisman Trophy. No other player has ever done that before.

Bush tweeted about his decision:

“Just want to thank everyone for their support throughout this tough time, said Bush. “This has been a hard decision for me today, but I feel it’s right.”

He continued: “But the key is to never allow your faults or mistakes to define you. Use them as an opportunity to mature and grow to become better!”

The NCAA ruled that Bush, a former running back at USC who now plays for the Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints, was ineligible for his 2005 college season — the year he won the Heisman because he received improper benefits.

Reggie Bush should return the Heisman

Reggie Bush looks like a kid who doesn’t want to give up the toy he stole. He’s stuck up, arrogant and in a state of denial over the problems he’s caused for his alma mater, USC.

Yahoo! Sports reports that the Heisman Trophy Trust is planning to strip Bush of the 2005 Heisman Trophy, although no official announcement has been made.

Asked if he would give the trophy back on his own, Bush told the Los Angeles Times: “I’m not even thinking about that. I haven’t gone that far.”

He added: “I’ve said all I want to say, and everything else has to play itself out. It’s an unfortunate situation for everybody, including the kids at USC.”
