Report: Jason Kidd had to be carried out of a nightclub before DWI arrest

July 15, 2012 Eastern Conference, NBA 2 Comments

The New York Knicks’ Jason Kidd was reportedly so drunk that he had to be carried out of a nightclub shortly before his DWI arrest on Long Island Sunday morning.

Multiple witnesses tell TMZ that the star point guard appeared “incredibly drunk,” and at one point, tried to hang from a light inside the club and broke it.

Kidd was partying at the SL East nightclub in East Hampton.

Kidd’s friends carried him out. But then he got into his luxury SUV and drove off around 1:00 a.m., despite their protests. He crashed into a telephone pole less than an hour later.

Earlier in the evening, a sober Kidd tweeted a photo of himself (wearing the same gray shirt as in the photo above) alongside George Lucas at a charity event.

Just last week, the 39-year-old Kidd signed a three-year, $9.5 million deal to play for the Knicks.
