University of Wisconsin basketball coach Bo Ryan acted like a jerk during his interview with CBS sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson.
The No. 22 Badgers blew a nine-point lead in the first half of their game against No. 10 Ohio State.
Watch how Ryan answered Wolfson’s questions at the half.
The 65-year-old Ryan has coached the Badgers since 2001. Halftime interviews are part of the game, so he should know better.
Ohio State beat Wisconsin, 50-43.
Bo wasn’t being a jerk at all, but the questions asked were about as stupid as one could imagine. Of course, Tracy Wolfson obviously wasn’t hired for her sports knowledge!
Frankly, if I had my way, ALL those sideline reporters would take a hike. They add NOTHING to the telecast, and are so out of place it’s ridiculous. In fact, even the announcers should remember it’s TELEVISION. We can SEE what’s happening–we don’t need a radio-style report. Drop the subject!!
I think when you ask simple questions, you get simple answers! There was nothing “jerkish” about his interview at all. Even I knew the answers to her questions! C’mon CBS, get some quality questions for your next interview!
I would like to know who’s opinion is being broadcasted by using the headline Wisconsin coach Bo Ryan acted like a jerk to a CBS reporter. I watched the game and caught the halftime interview and only played the video thinking I had missed some horrible conduct from the Big Ten coach of the year. If that interview
demonstrates what a jerk looks like, then there are a lot of us jerks. I commend Bo on his ability to handle
a stressful work situation with that much politeness. Not sure what CBS would consider appropriate behavior. Maybe they should provide coaches with a script prior to the interview. Sounds more like someone has a axe to grind.
I am an Ohio State fan and I loved the interview, the women probably didn’t have a clue what she was even asking . Why should Bo Ryan tell some minnion what is going on with the game when you have two announcers who very seldom talk about what is going on.If I could sync up my radio with the T.V. I would listen to Paul Skeels all the time .
Ohio State had just made a big run on Wisco…. I knew that Bo was upset with his team. I didn’t think the interview was that bad. He told her what they had to do. Prevent them from scoring …. So be it …. I would say live with it …. you never know what to expect when a person is visibly upset. He had to get to the locker room and get his team in order….
