Pizzeria Creates Tebow And Saban Pizzas

January 13, 2012 AFC, NFL No Comments

Famous Joe’s Pizzeria in Madison, Ala. created pizzas with the faces of Tim Tebow and Nick Saban on them.

Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow faces Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in the AFC playoffs Saturday night. Alabama head football Coach Nick Saban just led the Crimson Tide to its 14th national championship.

The pizzas were delivered to a Kroger supermarket in Huntsville, Ala. where the Tide’s BCS National Championship Trophy was on display.

Joe Carlucci, a transplanted New Yorker who owns the pizzeria, said his team spent hours making the faces out of cheese using a secret technique. Carlucci came up with the idea because he’s a big Tim Tebow fan.

“I want Tim Tebow to come to my restaurant to do some kind of sponsor night where we sell some of the pizzas with his face on it and raise money for charity,” Carlucci told The Huntsville Times.

But Carlucci knew he had to do more than create a Tebow pizza. He was also inspired to create a Nick Saban pizza.

“I told myself you have to be fair since you live in Alabama and give some credit to the (University of) Alabama.”

Carlucci is serious pizza maker. Check out this video where he forms five pizza pies in just 31 seconds at the World Pizza Making Championship in Naples, Italy.

Carlucci plans to make other Tebow–inspired pizzas—especially one that shows the Broncos quarterback Tebowing.
