Terry Bradshaw Calls Off His Vegas Show

January 19, 2012 AFC, Media, NFL 1 Comment

FOX NFL Sunday co–host Terry Bradshaw has decided to call off his one-man Las Vegas show. He had been planning it for years, but he cancelled it right before his first rehearsal.

“I don’t have the energy, having traveled to (Fox’s Los Angeles studio) every week,” Bradshaw said. “It was a project three years in the making. I’m tired.”

Bradshaw, who won four Super Bowl titles as quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, was actually going to do standup comedy, singing and dancing in the Vegas show. He’s even put out a few albums. Here’s Bradshaw singing back in 1976:

Bradshaw said “athletes are pigeonholed” and he likes to do different things. That’s why he came up with the idea for the show. But now that he’s changed his mind, Bradshaw said he’d continue to do FOX NFL Sunday and public speaking.

“I had a long talk with myself,” Bradshaw said. “Tebowed it — got down on my knees praying. What do I want to do? I enjoy my public speaking. That’s what I love doing. It’s what I’m good at.”

TB signing in 1976 did not sound too bad, except for his enunciation of most of the words, which did not sound as cajun as he perhaps wanted it to, but overall he did carry the tune and hit the notes well. Don’t know why he would want his own show, now, because he has a great gig on the Fox Sports Sunday.
